| In the end of March the international conference Visaginas – Logistic Gates between the East and the West was held in Visaginas, Lithuania. The forum was organized by the Visaginas Entrepreneurs Competence Center created to solve the unemployment problem due to the decommissioning of Ignalina NPP. The center is supported by the Lithuanian Ministry of Labor, UNDP and PHARE programs. The conference mission was to discuss the opportunities for economic cooperation between the nuclear capital of Lithuania and Russian science cities. Obninsk was represented by the city officials and managers of 10 local companies.
